IntheCan Studios is led by filmmaker Tanner Charnstrom. Drawing on years of experience on commercial sets and in commercial production, Tanner brings a considered approach to directing, cinematography, and editing.

Clients work directly with Tanner throughout creative development, production, and post-production. Each project is built around its goals and scope, with a network of local filmmakers supporting larger productions.

The name behind the studio

“In the can” is a filmmaking expression for a successfully captured shot. Its origins in physical film reflect the studio’s appreciation for the craft of cinema—from 35mm projection to the tactile character of VHS.
